Climate Podcast
How We Got Here: Because the Earth Needs Professional Help.
Backstory: During a covid-related, online-only Intro Earth Science class, a bunch of colleagues graciously volunteered to Zoom into my class and give guest talks on their careers and importantly, their career trajectories. Some of these colleagues were earth scientists, but others were lawyers, photographers, activists, journalists - just anyone who worked in a field peripherally related to earth science and said yes to my ask. And my students LOVED it. I was so surprised but they loved hearing from different people across a range of careers who didn’t have their lives figured out at 22, seeing these non-linear career paths, and realizing how people put their unique skillsets and talents together over time to figure out how they could help combat climate change.
So, my colleague, Rachel Lupien, and I created a podcast and for people to tell their stories of how they got to where they are now - with the hopes that listening to other their journeys might inspire your own.
